ONTARIO’S VACCINE CERTIFICATE & WEDDINGS

Ontario’s Vaccine Certificate and what it means for Weddings

Based on September 1st 2021 Press Conference

As of SEPT 22, 2021

You will be required to show a vaccination receipt (two doses plus 14 days) and ID  (such a driver’s license or health card) to enter indoor congregate settings such as restaurants, bars, night clubs, event spaces, meeting spaces and indoor sporting events, gyms, theatres OR present a medical exemption. People under 12 years old are exempt.

Weddings and funerals are exempt from this until Oct 12 2021. Instead you are required to show a negative rapid antigen COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the event OR present proof of medical exemption. This extension gives guests and couples the opportunity to get their first dose, with the appropriate 28 days waiting period between doses, and then an additional 2 weeks for full immunity.

As of Oct 22, 2021

We will switch to a digital certificate, such as QR codes, that will be kept on our phones. Businesses will also have access to an app to easily verify these certificates. Prior to this date individuals will show their vaccine receipts available in PDF format on the provincial portal.

You will not need to show proof of vaccination for

·        hair salons and other indoor personal settings where masks can be worn

·        ceremonies taking place at a religious establishment

·        Outdoor weddings

Medical exemption will be made for those who cannot get vaccinated and people 12 years old and younger. Legislation will be put forth over the next days/weeks and will be updated upon reviewing

There are no changes to the capacity limits at this time for event attendance.
