ONTARIO STAGE 3 REOPENING PLAN: WHAT IT MEANS FOR WEDDINGS
As we may all know by now, Ontario will be moving to Step 3 of its reopening plan this Friday July 16. What does that mean for your upcoming weddings and special events?
We have the Coles note you were looking for:
Wedding receptions at staffed venues:
Indoor : 50% of capacity
Outdoor: 75% of capacity
No limits on how many guests per table, however all tables must be situated 2 meters apart from one another. Further clarity is still required around indoor seating (same household only or not) - please stay tuned.
No cut off time for bar service – Standard Ontario alcohol service standards apply. You may remove your masks to eat & drink.
Dancing is allowed with restrictions, including wearing of masks. Please refer to Food or Drink Establishments with dancing facilities when dancing is involved at a wedding reception. NOTE that the indoor capacity is REDUCED to 25% of the venue capacity when dancing is involved. The outdoor capacity remains at 75%
Bands and performers must maintain 2 meters distance between audience & guests. Where possible a separator or plexiglass is encouraged.
Vendors and hired staff do not count as a part of the guest count.
Businesses or organizations must collect patron contact information in settings where it is currently required in Step Three to support case and contact management, this includes venue halls.
Seated cocktail hour is the new norm. This is implied due to mask wearing restrictions unless you’re seated for eating or drinking.
Events at Private dwellings:
25 people head count indoors
100 people outdoors
