Top 5 Wedding Trends of 2020

The verdict is out, and you won’t believe what our favorite 2020 wedding trends are!

A few clues:

Micro weddings are larger than life. It’s OK to be a colorful bride. Inclusivity matters - yes, even when it comes to food. Nobody likes matchy-matchy bridesmaids and dry blooms are a thing!

Let's break it down, shall we?

1. MICRO weddings are larger than life

Although micro weddings are partially a situational trend brought on by COVID-19 and respective social distancing orders, we believe that this wedding style has been alive and on the rise for years. By the end of 2019 we saw more couples opt for an intimate soiree of 40-60 people where yes the budget per guest is heftier, but the individual and group experience is sublime and heartfelt.

These smaller celebrations of love are an opportunity to celebrate with the ones you hold dearest, and can appeal to the introvert in all of us. Why we love this trend? Expect darling bespoke touches, and a personalized experience. Trust us when we say: you’ll really feel a part of the couples love story.

2. Be a COLORFUL bride

Colour is one of our favorite 2020 wedding trends. Expect to see playful and rich shades of blues [It’s the color of the Year after all ], earthy mellow yellows and cool neo-mints. We believe color is incredibly important in setting the mood, and creating your "wedding vibe”.

We hold a dear place in our hearts for classic white, greenery and gold weddings, but we are beyond EXCITED to

see you create something that’s unique to you. Remember: color doesn’t have to be everywhere. Instead consider splashing small drops of rich and unique hues in your décor, stationary, florals or bridal attire.

3. Inclusivity — yes, even when it comes to food

We feel that a lot of our brides and grooms are leaning towards inclusivity when it comes to their reception menu. Couples are a lot more thoughtful and considerate when creating a wedding menu by ensuring there is a yummy option for all their guests. Menus for 2020 are going to check all thee boxes, and hopefully provide more options. Whether you're vegetarian, vegan, lactose or otherwise - we got you covered.

Don't forget to sprinkle this thoughtfulness while planning for your bar menu.

4. No one likes matchy-matchy bridesmaids

Matching bridesmaid dresses are so passé! We are ditching this tradition for something more comfortable and reflective of the different and unique people that make up your friend group and therefore your bridal party. Opt for the same color dress in different styles, similar dresses in different shades or a different piece all together for your main squeeze a.k.a maid of honor. Shhhhhhh.....and between you and me: we've even seen some gorgeous pant suit ensembles we are dying to try out!

5. Dried blooms are a thing

Lush greenery is king, always, but this year's wedding decor trend is getting a bit of a makeover. Our couples are experimenting with dried flowers, spray painted faux blooms and grasses to add depth, texture and dimension to centerpieces, flower wall installations and bridal bouquets. Try mixing fresh flowers and dried flowers - its a unique and beautiful combination sure to cause a scene.

VERY HONORABLE MENTIONS

1. Good lighting is always in style. Neon lights, candle lights, and fairy lights are all beautiful additions to any wedding space.

2. Lets face it, most wedding favors get left Donations towards your favorite charity as wedding favors, are the ultimate show of humanity. We're here for it!
